About Me
Hello! I’m Deb
Clinical Nurse Specialist | NDIS Specialist PBS Practitioner
I’m a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Mental Health, Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities — with more than 35 years of experience across public, private and not-for-profit sectors.
I trained in England before moving to Australia with my husband, and have spent my career working across some of the most complex presentations in mental health and disability. I was instrumental in establishing and managing services for children, mental health, intellectual disability and forensic populations — and I bring that breadth of experience to every client I work with today.
In the past six years, my work has been focused within the NDIS. I am endorsed as a Specialist Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner, working through Pamdon Consulting — a registered NDIS provider. This partnership means my PBS clients have access to fully NDIS-compliant services, assessments and behaviour support plans.
Through all of it, one thing has become undeniably clear to me: trauma sits at the heart of so much of what we’re trying to understand. I bring extensive experience supporting people through PTSD and Complex PTSD, and trauma-informed care underpins everything I do.
I offer sessions via telehealth — so whether you’re in regional WA, rural Queensland, or anywhere else in Australia, you can access specialist support without leaving home.
Outside of my clinical work, I am passionate about animal welfare. I have helped establish and manage several large animal rescue organisations across Australia, and I continue to support smaller groups with fundraising and capacity building. It’s how I stay grounded — and it reflects the same values that drive my clinical work: reducing suffering and making the world a little kinder.
My Approach & Values
With more than 35 years in mental health and disability, I bring a depth of clinical experience that is rare in private practice — combined with genuine warmth and a commitment to meeting people where they actually are.
My practice is holistic, collaborative and evidence-based. I draw from a broad range of therapeutic modalities and I tailor everything to the individual in front of me. No two people are the same, and no two treatment plans should be either.
I integrate both top-down methods — building cognitive insight, language and emotion regulation — and bottom-up approaches that work with the nervous system, sensory processing and somatic experience. Together, these create a more complete pathway to safety, regulation and long-term growth.
I work across the lifespan — with children, adolescents, adults and older adults — and I have particular expertise in complex, co-occurring presentations where multiple needs intersect.
Whether you’re navigating a new diagnosis, supporting a family member, working through trauma, or seeking specialist NDIS support — I offer a space that is safe, inclusive and genuinely focused on progress that matters to you.
